A Lifetime of Service, Now on Your Side
Born and raised in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Clay earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma while completing the U.S. Army ROTC program. Commissioned as a U.S. Army Reserve Officer, he served for eleven years, including a combat tour in Afghanistan, and finished his military career as a Captain.
Clay began his law enforcement career with the Okmulgee Police Department in 1997 before being selected for the Tulsa Police Academy, where he rose through the ranks and ultimately retired as a Lieutenant after 24 years of service. His assignments covered everything from patrol and traffic investigation to community education and crime scene work, and he was a founding platoon leader of the Tulsa Police Special Response Team, protecting constitutional rights during large-scale protests and civil disturbances.
He has completed extensive specialized training, including:
- Advanced Traffic Investigation
- DUI Investigations
- Information Collection While on Patrol (InCOP) – Train-the-Trainer
- Crime Scene Investigation and Interview Techniques
Beyond the Badge
When he’s not dissecting police reports or tracking down key witnesses, Clay dedicates his time to building the next generation of leaders. A proud veteran and lifelong member of The American Legion, he has volunteered with Oklahoma Boys State for more than 25 years, serving six of those as State Director. Each summer, he spends two weeks mentoring youth in Oklahoma and Washington, D.C., through The American Legion Boys Nation.
