The Legislature has spoken – the law that forced extra interlock time on those who face a DUI does not exist after November 1, 2019.
DPS HAS DECIDED TO IGNORE THE LAW.
Don’t let DPS Abuse You!
New laws go into effect on November 1st, 2019 and the Erin Sweezey Law that added 18 months, 3 years, and 5 years of interlock use to many drivers license suspensions was eliminated.
OF COURSE, DPS is looking for the most heavy-handed manner of dealing with this and has announced that they will simply continue to apply the old law to anyone suspended before November 1st, 2019. In effect, DPS wishes to punish people with a law that NO LONGER EXISTS!
EDGE LAW FIRM will instantly challenge this COMPLETELY WRONG application of the Law!
If you or anyone you know has had a suspension before November 1, 2019 (a suspension or interlock period of 6 months, 1 year, or 3 years) and DPS is requiring an additional interlock restriction (adding more time than is required), CONTACT EDGE LAW FIRM BEFORE YOU AGREE AND ADD TIME TO YOUR INTERLOCK CONTRACT!
DPS Refusing to Renew Your License? Here’s What to Do
If you are refused a renewed license – we suggest that you ask for the refusal to renew in writing and document the name of the person who refused you as well as the date and time of refusal.
We have beaten DPS not once, not twice, not three times but MANY TIMES and we are ready to do it again as we fight for YOUR RIGHTS!
To be eligible for the above, you must:
- Have had the interlock installed on your car for a period of 6 months, 1 year, or 3 years
- The time period for the above expires after November 1st
- You try to get your regular license and DPS refuses you and tells you to add more time to your interlock contract
IF THE ABOVE HAPPENS TO YOU, CALL US IMMEDIATELY AT: 918-582-6333.
