Brian Morton

He Used to Take Licenses Away. Now He Fights to Get Them Back.

Before joining The Edge Law Firm, Brian Morton spent years as Assistant General Counsel for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, the very agency responsible for suspending and revoking driver’s licenses across the state. He knows exactly how the system works, where it bends, and how to beat it.

Today, Brian is Oklahoma’s go-to Driver’s License Defense expert, turning the State’s own playbook against it. His deep knowledge of DUI law, implied consent, and administrative license hearings makes him one of the most formidable forces in the courtroom and one of the biggest headaches for prosecutors.

A Legal Powerhouse with Proven Results

Brian’s results do not just win cases. They change the law.

He has developed and argued three landmark cases that all went before the Oklahoma Supreme Court and won every single one. The result: over 10,000 breath-test cases dismissed statewide.

When the legislature passed a law making it a crime to refuse a breath test, effectively punishing citizens for exercising their constitutional rights, Brian took it head-on. Before the law could even take effect, he challenged it and got it declared unconstitutional.

From Prosecutor to Protector

An Oklahoma native, Brian graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Oklahoma before earning his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2000. He started his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Sallisaw, then became a respected criminal defense attorney with his own practice. In 2008, he accepted a post at the Department of Public Safety, mastering the legal mechanics of license revocation from the inside.

Then came the turning point.

“I spent a small career taking drivers’ licenses away,” Brian says. “Then I decided it was time to fight for people’s rights instead of against them. I’m on your side now.”

Now, at The Edge Law Firm, Brian’s unmatched insider knowledge and fearless advocacy are helping drivers keep what matters most: their freedom, their future, and their license.

When the State tries to take your license, Brian Morton is the one who takes it personally.
