Oklahoma DUI Attorney Fees
“You get what you pay for” is one of the most common expressions in the English language, and there’s a simple explanation for the saying’s popularity: it’s true, particularly when it comes to DUI defense attorneys. Indeed, if you are arrested for drunk driving (an offense known as driving under the influence, or DUI) in Oklahoma, you will face a number of harsh penalties under the state’s mandatory sentencing guidelines. Fortunately, when it comes to DUI defense, no firm has as much experience and success as The Edge Law Firm.
What Makes Our Firm Different?
Out of the thousands upon thousands of attorneys in the United States, less than 50 have received board certification in DUI defense from the National College for DUI Defense—and our firm’s founder, attorney Bruce Edge, is one of them. What’s more, he actually wrote the book on Oklahoma DUI law, authoring a comprehensive guide on the subject that is used by attorneys across the state. He is the author of over 13 books related to DUI defense.
We offer the full time services of the former Deputy Director of DPS who does nothing but driver’s license hearings, District Court appeals and Supreme Court appeals. He works for us exclusively defending your driving privilege.
We are the only firm with a full time private investigator on staff who works your case and protects you at no additional charge. Everyone in our office is also SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Tests) trained.
Along with our experience, we also differ from our competitors in the way we approach a case. Unlike many attorneys in our field, we do not consider plea bargaining a successful defense tactic. Since our goal is to get your charges completely dismissed, we assume that every case we handle will go to trial—and we review all of the facts to determine the best defense strategy for each of our clients.
What Will Your Defense Cost?
Every DUI case is different, and in terms of cost, there is no “one-size-fits-all” price for an attorney. The amount you pay will vary based on the complexity of the case, your prior criminal record, and the severity of the charges against you, as well as the attorney’s education, rate of success, and overall experience. While legal representation does not come cheap, when you consider our firm’s skill and level of expertise, we think you will find our fees quite reasonable.
We charge one flat fee so there won’t be any surprises when you get your final bill. In addition, we also accept a number of payment methods and will work with you to customize a payment plan that fits your budget. After evaluating your case, you will be given a firm fee that will include ALL work on all the issues. We do not leave you hanging or have “extras or add-ons.” Everything will be detailed in writing before we begin.
Remember, once you factor in long-term consequences, a DUI conviction can cost exponentially more than your attorney fees—and since having the right defense strategy can be the difference between a guilty and a not guilty verdict, it is important to choose wisely when it comes to hiring your attorney.
